He also won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama Series, making history as the first African American to do so in the 75-year history of the ceremony.
In addition, Brown made history by winning the SAG Award for Outstanding Male Actor in a Drama, becoming the first African American actor to do so.
Along with his cast, he has also won two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and the African-American Film Critics Association’s Best Actor Award twice.

The independent movie “Honk for Jesus, Save Your Soul,” which Brown is also producing, has finished filming.
Alongside Mark Duplass, he is now working on the sci-fi independent film “Biosphere.”
Brown co-hosted the OWN special “Honoring Our Kings: Own Honors Black Fatherhood” last year and served as executive producer.
The six-part CNN docuseries “Lincoln: Divided We Stand,” which examined Abraham Lincoln’s incredible life and what it implies for us today, recently had Brown as its narrator.
